And, thinking of that president and the state of the economy he so laboriously crafted, do you not wonder at the folks who would have you believe that today%26#039;s economy is so awful?
Are these people children (i.e., too young to know any better)? Are they ignorant? Or are they engaging in a favored tactic of the Soviets by telling a lie over and over again in the hopes that it will begin to be believed through sheer repetition?
Whatever their reasons and motivations for spreading their lies, just think what would happen in this country if we should suddenly find ourselves in the state that we were in during 1979 and 1980 - it wouldn%26#039;t be pretty, would it?!?
Which president do you think of when you hear %26quot;13% inflation%26quot;? Or when you hear %26quot;19% mortgage rates%26quot;?
Eddie, that was Mr. Peanuts, or President Carter. I just knew it was going to be a rough 4 years when he wanted people to turn their thermostats down to 65 F, and Congress said no, the national limit was 68 F. Yes, we had Inflation rates and mortgage rates as you mention then, and he was a democrat. Isn%26#039;t it nice to know that if we get another one, then all of those who are against the Republicans, and conservatives might have the wonderful joy of such conditions again? Please note the sarcasm I use.
Yes, repetition of a lie is used a lot, and is once again in current use to get those who either want to believe that it is true, or are simply to young and naive to know any better. They tend to choose who to believe based on what they are told by those that appear to be in authority. They%26#039;ll argue that what they say is true and defend it regardless of information to the contrary simply because they believe that what they believe is the truth. Isn%26#039;t it amazing that those in college, where the best information should be available is where a lot of the non-sense originates. To bad it takes so long for them to find out they have been used for someones agenda. By the time they do figure it out, the damage has been done, sometimes without remediation.

so... one bad president for a party taints their policies forever, regardless of anything else that was going on at the time?
I personally like to think back to Clinton... and his fantastic economy... that %26quot;percentage improvement wise%26quot; has done much better than anything recently...
but where you really show your hand is where you can%26#039;t help yourself but to call anyone who thinks differently than you do stupid commies in your middle graph... again, name calling reigns supreme...

I think you are trying to find something else to blame President Bush for. Something he has no %26quot;direct%26quot; control over. Get over it! I even heard someone blame President Bush for Don Imus%26#039;s comments over the radio. REALLY!?!?

Yes Jimmy Carter also had odd and even gas days and the price of gasoline was more expensive after adjusting for inflation . The stalinistic tactics work well on young nieve people and uniformed immigrants . Ironically the democrats not only controlled the presidency but both the House and Senate as well. They call themselves progressive and moving forward with new ideas for change but they have controlled the house and senate 80 % of the time since WWII and nothing but less buying power because of high tax has came from their 1930%26#039;s style Marxism .
